Dell Griggs, wife of longtime Alabaster pastor, died Jan. 19

Dell Elizabeth Griggs — wife of deceased Pastor Roy Carlton Griggs — died Jan. 19. She was 86.

For 50 years, she ministered alongside her husband as he served as pastor of churches including at Southside Baptist Church, Alabaster, where he served from 1990 to 2000, and Siluria Baptist Church, Alabaster, where he served from 1971 to 1983. The couple was married for 68 years.

Griggs is survived by her daughter, Judy; son, Ronald Carlton; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
