Donald “Donny” Elliott is the new pastor of Friendship Church, Jasper. He previously served as pastor of Macedonia Church, Jasper. Elliott furthered his education through the Samford extension program at the associational office. He and his wife, Ruby, have two children and four grandchildren.
In my ministry context, I have heard many versions of this notion over the years, phrased as both a question and also a declaration: “I don’t have to go to church to be a Christian, do I?”
