Doug Wilson selected to lead UM’s School of Christian Studies

Doug Wilson is the new dean of the School of Christian Studies at University of Mobile (UM).

Wilson holds a bachelor of science in church music from Toccoa Falls College and a master of divinity in pastoral ministry and a doctor of philosophy in Semitic literature, religions and culture, both from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, Tennessee.

He has extensive experience in music ministry, pastoral ministry, church planting and international service.

He also serves as director of the university’s Global Engagement Office, focusing on international students and studies.

Wilson has numerous publications to his credit, including over 200 Bible study articles in The Alabama Baptist. He has served in church ministry for over 36 years.

“Preparing students for a life of service in the global marketplace is a stewardship that we take seriously,” he said.

“Partnering with academic disciplines across campus and institutions around the world affords us the opportunity to make a local and global impact for Christ and the gospel. I’m grateful for this opportunity to serve,” Wilson said. (UM)
