Duo Jenny & Tyler come to Birmingham

If you’re the type of listener who enjoys a musical mixture of Bing Crosby, Simon and Garfunkel and The Swell Season, then the Christmas album released Nov. 4 by Jenny & Tyler may be for you.

The folk-pop husband and wife duo worked with producer Ben Shive (Rend Collective, Brandon Heath, Andrew Peterson) to release “Christmas Stories,” featuring eight Christmas classics and one original song, “Christmastime,” written by Jenny Somers, Tyler Somers and Trent Monk.

Jenny Somers said, “‘Christmas Stories’ is our attempt to rekindle the wonder of Christmas. It’s how we felt when we were kids waiting impatiently for Santa, reliving the Christmas story and listening to our parents’ holiday albums.”

‘Reason to pause, reflect’

Tyler Somers added, “The older you get, the more difficult it seems to be truly amazed by something. We recorded this album to give ourselves a reason to pause and reflect, get back to that childlike wonder.”

And if you’re in Birmingham and want to hear Jenny & Tyler live, you’ll have a chance at Peterson’s 17th annual Behold the Lamb of God Christmas Tour where Jenny & Tyler will be a featured guest.

The tour will make its way to Valleydale Church, Birmingham, on Dec. 9, 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
