FBC Cullman administrative assistant retires after 42 years of ministry

After 42 years of service at First Baptist Church, Cullman, Judy Mangum is set to retire. Mangum has served as an administrative assistant in various departments within the church, most recently as assistant to the pastor.

“Judy is a gift to this church and this community — a blessing from God,” says Pastor Tom Richter. “I am grateful for her skill, her work ethic and above all her love and loyalty to Christ and His Church. It will be impossible to replace her institutional knowledge and she will be missed, but we look forward to seeing what God has in the future for Judy and Morris in their next chapter of life.”

Edwin Hayes, pastor emeritus of First, Cullman, says he was also blessed to work with Mangum.

“Judy is the most efficient, well-organized, ‘ministry enabler’ I have been blessed to work with in my more than 55 years of ministry,” said Hayes, adding, “She is a treasure in the kingdom of God!”

First, Cullman, will host a retirement tea in her honor Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. (TAB)
