Patricia Hickman and Don Aycock will headline the upcoming 2014 Southern Christian Writers Conference (SCWC) at First Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa.
Hickman, whose address will be “How To Connect with Your Readers,” is an award-winning Christian novelist. Aycock is the pastor of Liberty Baptist Church, Palatka, Fla. He also teaches as an adjunct professor and writes nonfiction books on writing, prayer, men’s issues and ministry. He will speak on “Thinking Like a Christian Writer.”
Hickman and Aycock also will lead instructional workshop sessions along with 15 other speakers. Topics include “Called To Write,” “How To Get a Publisher To Accept Your Book” and “10 Essentials to Sharpening Your Writing.”
In addition to the speakers, two literary agents of the Literary Management Group, Bruce Barbour and Karen Moore, will be available for individual sessions with participants.
The event will take place June 6–7 in the education building at First, Tuscaloosa. The deadline for preregistration is May 31 and attendance is limited to 200 guests.
The SCWC, founded in 1992, is in its 23rd year and is coordinated by Joanne Sloan and Cheryl Wray.
