NASHVILLE — Contributions through the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) for February 2009 totaled $17,043,489.48 — 16.76 percent, or $3,431,943.12, below the $20,475,432.60 received in February 2008, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.
Year-to-date contributions through the CP are 3.27 percent below the same time frame last year. As of Feb. 28, the year-to-date total of $85,293,089.40 for CP missions is $2,881,905.82 below the $88,174,995.22 received at the end of February 2008. For the CP Allocation Budget, the year-to-date total of $85,293,089.40 is 99.51 percent of the $85,715,347.50 budgeted to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America. The SBC operates on an Oct. 1–Sept. 30 fiscal year.
