Finding Favour

Reborn
Gotee Records

Christian artists Finding Favour signed with Gotee Records in 2012, and their first Extended Play record on that label produced two Top 30 hits for the band in the Christian Singles chart and another Top 40 hit for country artist Austin Webb. That’s certainly an impressive first effort.

The band will release its first full-length project for Gotee Records on June 23, “Reborn.” There are 10 songs on the record, all co-written by the group. The first radio single from the project is the anthem ballad “Cast My Cares.”

The record is a somewhat curious mix of pop and country. Much of their new record reminds me of the sparse pop sound of the likes of Unspoken, including their strong, clear vocals, but then the band jumps into a pure country ballad or a thoroughly modern worship anthem like “Hallelujah One More Time” and everything you thought you knew about the band’s “sound” flies out the window. I take that as a good thing.

“Reborn” is a mature effort for a band that started in 2005 and is an impressive full-length debut. I’m anxious to hear more.
