Are you missing the latest updates from The Alabama Baptist on Facebook? It might be the result of recent changes to the platform.
Facebook is dropping the “like” button on some pages, and soon you will only be able to “follow” a page.
That means you may no longer see news from The Alabama Baptist newspaper unless you choose to “follow” our page. It’s a subtle difference meant to simplify the user experience on Facebook, but if you don’t take a few easy steps, you may miss news from your favorite sites because of this change.
Here’s what to do
Here’s how to make sure you receive all the latest news and information from TAB Media:
- Go to The Alabama Baptist newspaper on Facebook (facebook.com/thealabamabaptist). You will probably still see the “thumbs up” symbol to like the page. Make sure that’s selected.
- Near that button, you’ll see a large blue “Follow” button. Click that button. That’s all there is to it!
These changes are happening across Facebook pages, which means your church’s Facebook page and the pages of other ministries and organizations you like also may be affected.
If you don’t see a blue “Follow” button on a page, look for a button with three dots near the “Like” button.
Click that menu button to see more options. From here, choose “follow settings,” and then select how you want to view posts from your favorite organizations in your timeline. Selecting “Favorites” is optimal — you’ll see the most posts in your timeline that way. From this menu, you also can choose how you are notified of new posts.
