ABUJA, Nigeria — Four Christians were killed in Nigeria’s Benue State during the first part of October as persecution against Christians in that country continues unchecked.
Nigeria has led the world in the number of Christians killed for their faith or kidnapped.
On Oct. 9, Muslim Fulani herdsmen raided Ayilamo village and slew two Christians, reported Morning Star News. One of the slain was a university student on break.
‘Common occurrence’
Six days prior to that, herdsmen attacked Tse Wende, killing two Christians.
“Attacks by armed Fulani herders have become a common occurrence here,” Fabian Terseer, a source said. “The sad thing too is that the Nigeria government has not deemed it necessary to take steps toward ending these attacks on our communities. For how long are we expected to endure these killing epidemics?”
Nigeria is No. 6 on Open Doors’ 2024 World Watch List of places most difficult to be a Christian.
