ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Voters in Alaska’s largest city have defeated a referendum that would have required people to use public bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their gender at birth as listed on their birth certificate. Proposition 1, which was proposed by nonprofit Christian policy group Alaska Family Action, was defeated by a 53–47 margin. (TAB)
