Good Hope Baptist Church, Eclectic, celebrated its 175th anniversary Nov. 20 with longtime pastor Kenny Hill preaching and Tim Lawrence, minister of worship, leading congregational singing.

Special music was provided by Lawrence, Kathy Stewart, Karen Carter and Donald Warren as well as the children’s choir, a church ensemble and the church choir.
Certificates were presented by Ralph Foster of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission; Scotty Goldman of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions; and Ray Mc-Kenzie, director of missions of Elmore Baptist Association. The church held an afternoon service after lunch featuring the youth praise band.
In the six Sundays leading up to the celebration, the church highlighted the congregation’s history.
