Due to the serious nature of House Bill 363 and its companion bill Senate Bill 135, The Alabama Baptist is printing how each legislator would vote on the BIR and the bill itself.
This week we are printing the representatives’ information. We will print the senators’ information in a future issue.
An e-mail was sent to all House members (to their personal e-mail addresses) on the morning of March 3 requesting their answers to the following:
- How would you vote on the BIR to bring up HB363 if the BIR vote were today? (Yes or No)
- How would you vote on HB363 if the vote were today? (Yes or No)
The e-mail explained that this would be printed in the March 12 issue and that the print deadline was March 6.
On the morning of March 4, all legislators who had not responded were sent a second e-mail, this time to the main House e-mail address as well as to their personal e-mail address again. Those without personal e-mail addresses were called at the Statehouse.
On March 5, a fax was sent to all who had not responded. On the morning of March 6, calls were made to the homes, hometown businesses or cell phones of those remaining. Those not responding by press time are noted with “NR” for no response.
