Historical Commission’s Berg announces upcoming retirement; Westerhouse named as successor

Lonette Berg, executive director of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, will retire Dec. 31, she announced during ABHC’s board meeting June 1.

She has served in the role since 2007 and served the four years prior as special assistant to her predecessor, Frances Hamilton.

Wendy Westerhouse has been named ABHC’s executive director-elect and will come on board July 10 to serve alongside Berg through the transition. Westerhouse served nearly 40 years at Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center.
