Timothy Edmond Hoyle
Former Alabama Baptist music minister dies
Timothy Edmond Hoyle, who served at several Alabama Baptist churches in music ministry, died Nov. 16, 2016. He was 56.
Hoyle, born in Mississippi but raised in Huntsville, earned his bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Birmingham and his master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
In college Hoyle served as a music evangelist on revival teams during the summer and led music at 66th Street Baptist Church, Birmingham.
He later served churches in Tennessee and Texas before serving as minister of music and youth at First Baptist Church, Loxley, from 1988 to 1994. He also served churches in Kentucky.
From 2004 to 2008, Hoyle was the minister of music at Murphy Hill Baptist, Toney, and worship leader at Southside Baptist Church, Greenville, from 2008 to 2015. He was serving as associate pastor of music and worship at First Baptist Church, West Memphis, Arkansas, at the time of his death. Hoyle also was active in missions.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya. (Neisha Roberts)
