International Baptist Seminary celebrates

PRAGUE, Czechoslovakia —Students, academic teachers, staff and community members of the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague gathered in the chapel Sept. 9 for the inauguration service for the 54th academic year.

Forty-eight new students from 18 countries have been enrolled in the doctoral, masters and certificate programs making a total student community of 95, the highest since the seminary was founded in 1949.

During the inauguration service Parush R. Parushev of Bulgaria was installed as academic dean, succeeding Ian M. Randall from Scotland. Peter F. Penner from Germany was recognized as director of missions and evangelism and Cheryl A. Brown from the United States as director of biblical studies. Toivo Pilli of Estonia was welcomed as a new lecturer in Baptist and Anabaptist studies and David Catto of England as head of the English Language Department.
