Judson Athletics Receives National Accolades

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) ranked Judson College’s soccer team No. 2 in the coaches’ poll, according to a Sept. 16 press release.

The Eagles’ volleyball team was ranked 12th in the nation by the USCAA in the same press release.

Lauren Browning,  of Sylacauga, was named goalie of the week for women’s soccer, and Amber Owen, of Columbus, Miss., was named volleyball player of the week.

Browning made 11 saves to earn her first shut out win of the season Sept. 8.

Owen assisted in two matches during the week, digging 77 balls and adding a kill.

Lisa Dundore, of Fayetteville, N.C., also received an honorable mention for soccer player of the week for scoring the game-winning goal in the 1–0 match against Huntingdon College.

The week prior, Becky Ellis was named USCAA women’s soccer player of the week.

Ellis, of Ocean Springs, Miss., scored three goals and tallied one assist in her first game Aug. 25. She also scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute Sept. 5.
