Judson College Equine Team Competes in First Show of Season

The Judson College Equestrian Western team competed in its first set of Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) shows for the 2012–2013 season Sept. 29. 

The shows were hosted by North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Ga. 

During the first show, freshman Mary Kilpatrick, of Dothan, placed sixth in Novice, class 13. Freshman Bri Hunter, of Somerville, placed reserve. Junior Shelby Crews, of Greenville, placed reserve in class 12B, Intermediate II. Jana Davenport, of Jemison, placed first in class 12A, Intermediate I and senior Lindy Cowart, of Brandon, Miss., placed third. Sophomore Rylee Parnell, of Tibee, placed second in class 11, Beginner, and sophomore Kayla Brasher, of Jemison, placed fourth.

During the second show, Kilpatrick placed fourth in class 13, and junior Christina Duke, of Vestavia Hills, placed fifth. Crews placed fourth in class 12. Cowart placed second in class 12A and Davenport placed fourth. 

The next IHSA show will be Oct. 20–21 at Berry College in Rome, Ga., and will feature both the Western and hunt seat divisions.
