Q: Why do you go on missions trips?

A: I got involved in missions trips with a dear friend of mine, Jerry Cross, who was building churches in Brazil. Once I had gone on one trip and had gotten to see the value of what was being done and the effect it had on me and others, I’ve been doing it ever since.

Q: What do these trips demand of you?

A: Time, money and a lot of preparation. For the time we are there, blessing after blessing.

Q: What do you get from it?

A: The joy of serving God. I get more out of it than I put in.

Q: What led you into missions work?

A: I went on the first trip reluctantly. I felt like it was an obligation to a friend. Of course, I’ve changed my mind about that.

Q: How does your family support you in this activity?

A: They support me in every way. My wife has gone with me on trips. Both of my daughters and sons-in-law have gone. When I go alone they support me with prayer and any other way they can.

Q: How do you see yourself involved in missions in the future?

A: As long as God leads me to do that I plan to continue. It is interesting to me to see how He has opened up opportunities.

Q: What difference will your missions trips make for you in the future?

A: So far it has drawn me closer to God. If I continue I would expect to have a closer relationship to God as I serve Him
