Leadership question

Leadership question

The office of elder is becoming increasingly popular in Southern Baptist life according to a report in the Associated Baptist Press (May 3). The Baptist Faith & Message, revised in 2000, states in Section VI (The Church) that, “While both men and women are gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.” This declaration has been used in our convention to ostracize churches that select female pastors.

My question is will we now enforce the preceding sentence in Section VI: “Its scriptural officers are pastors and deacons”?
