Legislature to recognize ‘Pro-life Day’ on March 16

MONTGOMERY (TAB) — The Alabama Legislature has designated March 16 “Pro-life Day” and, as such, the House of Representatives will be debating several pro-life bills that day.

Alabama Citizens Action Program Executive Director Joe Godfrey is encouraging Alabama Baptists and pro-lifers to attend the legislative session that day as a show of support for the right to life of the unborn.

“We need to show the House we respect their willingness to move these pro-life bills,” he said. “This may be the most important day of the session.”

One such bill is HB 98, sponsored by Rep. Matt Fridy, R-District 73, which affirms Alabama’s commitment to the right to life of unborn children. The bill has already been passed in the Senate, so passage in the House would make it a constitutional amendment.

If you’d like to show your support but are unable to go to the Alabama State House (11 South Union Street, Montgomery, AL 36130) on March 16, contact your representative at http://capwiz.com/state-al/home/.
