Clifford Collins Lett, a retired Alabama Baptist pastor, died Jan. 2. He was 85.
A graduate of Howard College (now Samford University) in Birmingham and World War II veteran, Lett served as a pastor of Alabama Baptist churches for more than 30 years. His first church was New Temple Baptist, Dora, in Sulphur Springs Baptist Association, where he served as bivocational pastor while working as a teacher at Corner High School in Warrior.
Lett’s full-time pastorates included Bellview Baptist Church, McCalla, in Tuscaloosa Baptist Association; First Baptist Church, Sumiton, in Walker Baptist Association; and Bethel Baptist Church, Dora, in Sulphur Springs Association. He retired from the pastorate about 25 years ago.
Most recently, Lett attended Southside Baptist Church, Albertville, in Marshall Baptist Association.
He is survived by his wife, Nalawene; three children; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. (TAB)
