Jack Still, a longtime Alabama Baptist pastor, died March 9. He was 80.
Still earned a bachelor’s degree in religious studies from Samford University and went on to earn a master of divinity and doctor of ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
For years, he and his wife, Shirley, served in ministry together in the northern half of Alabama. Still served as pastor of Mount Joy Baptist Church in Hanceville, Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cullman, First Baptist Church Fairfield and Elkton Road Baptist Church in Athens. He also conducted training in Sunday School growth for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions.
Still is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley, and daughter, Meleah. He is survived by his second wife, Sharon, as well as his children Clark Still, Chris Still, Gina (Nathan) Drake and Crystal (Buz) Boyd, and his grandchildren Jackson (Emma) Drake, Harrison Drake and Carli Boyd.
