Longtime pastor Terry Glenn “Dude” Smith, dies

Terry Glenn “Dude” Smith of Maplesville died July 3. He was 75.

He served as a pastor for more than 40 years, serving in Chilton, Bibb and Jefferson counties. He also worked for Kimberly Clark Paper Corporation as a forester for 17 years. During his years as a pastor, he served with Alpine Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church, both in Plantersville; Calvary Baptist Church, Centreville; Grant Street Baptist Church, Bessemer; Bethsalem Baptist Church, Billingsley; Pineview Baptist Church, Brent; Sardis Baptist Church, Maplesville; Mount Carmel #1 Baptist Church, Thorsby; and Chestnut Creek Baptist Church, Verbena.

He was preceded in death by his two children and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pam; a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law and three grandchildren.
