Memphis Baptist Church, Dothan, celebrated its 150th anniversary Sept. 15. During the 9 a.m. service, the church was honored with two presentations — one from John Thomas, SABA associational mission strategist, and one from Jane Hughes, a commissioner for the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission.
Pastor Jim Tate accepted on behalf of the church. A special video by Drew Whitehead, minister of music, and Tyler Marchman highlighted the history of the church. Music was led by Shon Brackin, a former member and current minister of music in Florida. Former member Casey Williamson, pastor of Goodwood Community Church, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was the guest speaker. A special dinner also took place that evening.
