Skywriting
Independent
A banjo and some fiddles provide the ignition for “Skywriting” by Mercy’s Well, but it’s the sky that’s blue on “The Sun will Shine Again” rather than the grass. Some products position the best cuts at the beginning and then level off, but Skywriting continues to gain altitude.
“This Could Be” launches a catchy hook that southern gospel fans should want to hear repeatedly. This could, indeed, be the song that secures significant attention for Mercy’s Well.
There’s something for all ages here, but we aren’t talking about a generalized grab bag of songs thrown together with no rhyme or reason. Thematic topical and musical elements provide the necessary connective glue, and the song selection has a consistent seasoned quality. With “Skywriting,” Mercy’s Well has set their sights on the wild blue yonder.
