More missionaries denied entry into Russia

MOSCOW — Five American missionaries were denied entry into Russia in an unofficial ban against foreign religious workers, reported Keston News Service.

This is the latest in a pattern of visa denials by Russian authorities. Keston and other sources say the government is denying religious workers access to the country on the grounds that they are a threat to national security.

A Swedish missionary and several members of the Catholic clergy were also denied entry to Russia in the last six months.
