John C. Morgan, former minister of several state Baptist churches, died April 17. He was 58.
Morgan, a native of Chickamauga, Ga., earned a bachelor’s degree from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn. He later earned a master of divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a master of arts in marriage and family therapy.
Morgan served several Alabama churches during his 27-year ministry, including Union Grove Baptist, Crossville, in DeKalb Baptist Association; Tibbie Baptist in Washington Baptist Association; Tompkins Baptist, Grove Hill, in Clarke Baptist Association; and Peniel Baptist, Jackson, in Clarke Association.
He also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Mobile and a marriage and family therapist at the Carpenter’s House in Mobile.
At the time of his death, Morgan and his wife, Pat, were active members at Tibbie Baptist. He is survived by his wife, one son and three grandchildren. (TAB)
