Mount Carmel Baptist in Dadeville celebrates 125th anniversary, homecoming

Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Dadeville, celebrated its 125th anniversary and homecoming July 20.

Randy Hagan, a former pastor and retired associational missionary for Coosa River Baptist Association, was the guest preacher. Special music was provided by church members and friends. Margaret Robinson was recognized as the oldest member, and deacon Lamar Hartley with the longest membership tenure.

A commemorative plaque was presented to the church by Calvin Milford, a commissioner for the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission with Hartley and Pastor Freddie Senn accepting. A copy of The Alabama Baptist that featured the church’s centennial celebration was displayed along with photos and other historical items. A fellowship lunch was served following the service.
