Wherever the contemporary duo SHINEBRIGHT performs, the musicians remind students and young adults to reflect the light and love of Christ into their schools and communities.
SHINEBRIGHT is comprised of lead singer Emily Irene and her husband, Nathan Fertig, who plays the guitar.
Irene said, “The name comes from Philippians 2:15, which has been my favorite verse since I was 17 years old. The verse states: ‘so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.’”
With the release of their new album, “Only You,” the musical duo hopes to encourage students to seek Christ first and set an example for their friends by honoring Christ through their words and actions.
“I hope that people can hear our hearts and just be inspired to pursue their God-given dreams and realize the purpose of their life is to bring glory to God,” Irene said. “We want to encourage people to look toward God at all times and live for Him.”
This fall they will be featured on the “Be the Change Tour” along with bands OBB and All Things New.
Stories behind songs
“During our concerts I share the stories behind the songs,” Irene said. “It’s so encouraging hearing from people about how they are connecting with the songs and how God is using the songs to bring about life change.
“In every season there is something to be learned and a new way to be challenged by seeking after the Lord.”
