New Hope #2 Baptist Church, Cullman, celebrated its 125th anniversary July 26. Special guests included former pastor Ralph McGowan and his wife, Martha. Testimonies were given by members Carol Gunter and Randy Hayes. Carol Watts read a brief history of the church, noting 13 people established the church in 1901 and gave a total of 75 cents in the first offering. Commemorative plaques were presented to the church by Randy Makemson, East Cullman Baptist Association’s missionary, and Ken Blackwood, a commissioner of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission.
