New Market Baptist Church celebrated its 180th anniversary Sept. 27. Special music was provided by Olivia Reese, Lizzie Lee (shared an original song she composed) and the adult choir. Sue McWhorter, a commissioner for the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, presented a plaque to the church, with three pastors accepting the honor. A fellowship lunch followed.
