Newworldson
Inpop Records
After two years of GMA acclaim in their native Canada, Inpop innovators Newworldson are back with a self-titled sophomore record that promises to keep it coming. Despite being labeled “Americana” by reviewers prone to recommended-if-you-like clichés, Newworldson strays from the alt-country twang typically associated with acts like Cross Canadian Ragweed and Band of Heathens.
In reality, their new album continues to blend soul, gospel, blues and even reggae influences into a world savvy sound more readily likened to jam-band inspired rock a la Blues Traveler and even Counting Crows. Recommended.
