With New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) launching three new extension centers in Alabama this fall, theological training close to home is becoming more of a reality for ministers in the state.
In August, NOBTS will launch extension centers in Huntsville, Rainsville and Tuscaloosa. With the new sites, plus existing centers in Birmingham, Montgomery and nearby in Pensacola, Fla., NOBTS now offers seminary courses within a two-hour drive from any location in Alabama.
“This is a win for Alabama believers desiring accredited, affordable and accessible ministry training,” said Peter Kendrick, the seminary’s associate regional dean for Alabama and Georgia. “Those who are comfortable with technology can now access high-tech online courses, but those desiring a more personal face-to-face learning can meet in one of [the] extension centers and still live and serve in their community.”
More information about the seminary’s study options on the main campus, at extension centers and via the Internet is available at www.nobts.edu/academics, or by calling 1-855-662-8701. Information and contact details for each of the Alabama extension centers is available at www.nobts.edu/extensions.
