Not a Safe God

Not a Safe God

Tim Riter. Nashville: Broadman & Holman, 2006. 182 pp. (Paperback).

Subtitled “Wrestling With the Difficult Teachings of Jesus,” this volume was produced by a pastor who is also a college professor.

Unquestionably this work is quite relevant inasmuch as many Christians stay so focused on God’s goodness, causing them to be infected with complacency.

Tim Riter wrote, “We’ve made God comfortable, but if we take Him seriously, He will overturn our current lifestyles.” Quite frankly, this publication is one of the most challenging books this reviewer has come across in a number of years.
