A total of 45 abortion facilities in the U.S. closed or halted abortions in 2020, resulting in a net loss of four clinics and leaving one state — Missouri — without an active abortion facility, according to a survey conducted by Operation Rescue.
The Reproductive Health Services Planned Parenthood in St. Louis was the last abortion facility in Missouri. It remains open, but Operation Rescue reports no abortion appointments have been available there for months, and none are currently available anytime in the foreseeable future. All abortion appointments are now being referred to the Fairview Heights Planned Parenthood facility across the Mississippi River in Illinois.
Operation Rescue reports there are currently 706 active abortion facilities in the U.S.
