NASHVILLE — October contributions of $17,795,253.26 through the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Cooperative Program (CP) were 20.4 percent above CP gifts received in October 2007, according to a news release from SBC Executive Committee President and Chief Executive Officer Morris H. Chapman.
As of Oct. 31, CP gifts were $3,015,366.50 above the $14,779,886.76 received in October 2007. For the SBC CP Allocation Budget, the October total of $17,795,253.26 is 103.80 percent of the $17,143,069.50 budgeted for the month to support Southern Baptist ministries globally and across North America.
The SBC operates on an Oct. 1–Sept. 30 fiscal year. The CP is Southern Baptists’ method of supporting missions and ministry efforts of state conventions and the SBC.
