Old Town Creek Baptist Church, Moulton, paid the debt on its three-year-old sanctuary. A double tithe was encouraged on Easter, and the congregation answered by paying the remainder of the mortgage.
During its annual homecoming May 24, deacons Barry LouAllen, Daniel Duke, Wendell Mitchell, Kenneth Hanvy and Johnny Riggs, along with pastor Ronny Jones, burned the church’s final note. Former interim pastor Tim Keenum was the guest preacher. Dinner on the grounds was served following the service.
