Thank you for your Jan. 4 editorial, “The Enemies of Jesus,” in which you correctly state that “the temptation exists to believe that God’s Kingdom depends on the right political party being in power … .”
I would recommend that Alabama Baptists read the thought-provoking book “The Myth of a Christian Nation: How the Quest for Political Power is Destroying the Church,” by Gregory A. Boyd, published by Zondervan.
Though one may not agree with every conclusion, Mr. Boyd truly makes one think about the true “kingdom of God” and how it radically differs from, and exceeds in beauty, any “kingdom of man.”
This is a timely topic for the church in America today.
