Q: When did you come to know the Lord?
A: I made a profession of faith at the age of 8 but realized later I had never actually accepted the Lord as my personal Savior, which I did one Sunday night at the age of 17.

Q: How have you been involved in church through the years?
A: I have always been involved, coming up through the GAs (Girls’ Auxiliary) and YWA (Young Woman’s Auxiliary) missions organizations and in the choir. So when I married Joel and joined Angel Grove Baptist Church, it was the natural thing to do to become involved in the music ministry of the church, singing in the choir and the ladies’ ensemble. At the age of 20, I felt God calling me to work with children. In keeping with that calling, I have worked with children at Angel Grove for 38 years. Ten of those years, I served as children’s director. For 20 years, I served as WMU (Woman’s Missionary Union) director at Angel Grove.

Q: What have you gotten from that involvement?
A: I have grown so much as a Christian. I love the Lord and my church. God has blessed me in so many ways.

Q: How do you see yourself involved in church in the future?
A: I hope to always be involved in the children’s ministry as well as the choir as long as the Lord allows.

Q: What does the Christian life mean to you?
A: I cannot imagine life without Christ. I could not survive one day without Him. I have the abundant life and could not ask for more.
