Proud of community

In the Feb. 8 issue of The Alabama Baptist, on page 3 is an article about Hunter Street Baptist Church. I grew up in western Birmingham (the Bush Hills community) and attended Hunter Street during the ’50s.

My point — this article stated Hunter Street was located in “downtown” Birmingham. Well we were nowhere close to downtown.

You should have gotten some better input. It is a shame to have left out the exact location of the church. We were so proud of our neighborhood, Bush Hills, then and we loved the church.
