Providence Baptist Church, Opelika, church choir will celebrate the 250th anniversary of America June 28 at 8 and 10:45 a.m. with a special re-creation of the musical “I Love America” that was presented in 1976 in honor of the nation’s 200th anniversary. Twelve of the original singers will participate in this event under the direction of Tom Smith, music minister. Rusty Sowell is pastor.
The Baptist Church at McAdory in McCalla will host the student choir from Providence Baptist Church in Opelika, in a worship concert June 12 at 7 p.m.
Hoboken Baptist Church, Sweet Water, celebrated its 150th anniversary May 17.
East Heflin Baptist Church, Heflin, celebrated its 75th anniversary May 10, the same date as the church’s first service in 1951.
First Baptist Church Elba celebrated staff appreciation April 19, honoring Judith Tucker, the church pianist, and Ella Kate Ham, the organist, for their faithfulness and ministry for more than 50 years each.
