Public Schools

I would like to thank Dr. Bob Terry for his editorial concerning public schools and teachers in the Aug. 24 issue of The Alabama Baptist. As a Christian public schoolteacher I appreciate the positive comments that were made and the recognition that there are many Christian teachers in our public schools.

We pray daily — maybe even every minute — for our students, schools and fellow teachers. We seek to show Christ in our daily contact with students and in the concern we show for them. There are also more opportunities to witness than many people realize. Some people want to talk about God not being allowed in our schools, but through Christian teachers and students, He is here.
