Although its 125th anniversary Sunday followed the same format as any other Sunday morning at Round Mountain Baptist Church, Cedar Bluff, it was still a day to celebrate. The decision of a teenage girl to accept Christ on June 5 marked the day and made it “a good day,” said Pastor David Davenport.
Southern gospel group Willing Vessel was a special feature of the anniversary service. And Wendell Dutton, director of missions for Cherokee Baptist Association and Alabama Baptist Historical Commission (ABHC) representative, kept the celebration going by presenting a certificate to the church on behalf of ABHC the following Sunday, June 12.
