Highlights from the fourth and final session of the 2022 Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting:
- Through the resolutions, messengers expressed lament and repentance for the sin of sexual abuse within the convention and voiced their support for consistent laws regarding pastoral sexual abuse and increased transparency and accountability across every level of the SBC.
- South Carolina pastor Alex Sands is the new second vice president after a runoff vote. Sands received 59.71 percent of the vote while Rodolfo Diaz-Pons received 40.15 percent.
- Reports from the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission and Lifeway Christian Resources were given.
- The 2023 SBC Annual Meeting will be held in New Orleans next June.
