GREENSBORO, N.C. — Members of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Resolutions Committee, who will serve during the June 13–14 annual meeting in Greensboro, N.C., have been named by SBC President Bobby Welch. Welch, pastor of First Baptist Church, Daytona Beach, Fla., appointed T.C. French, pastor of Jefferson Baptist Church, Baton Rouge, La., as chairman.
Other members include pastors from Florida, Georgia and South Carolina as well as two educators (one from Mississippi and one from Missouri), the state Baptist paper editor from Georgia and an author from Wyoming. The committee will address all resolutions submitted by Southern Baptists for the upcoming annual meeting.
Proposed resolutions may be submitted up to 15 days prior to the annual meeting. The draft must be typewritten, titled, dated and include complete contact information for the person and his or her church. It must also be accompanied by a letter from a church qualified to send a messenger to the SBC annual meeting certifying that the individual submitting the resolution is a member in good standing. There is also a three-resolution maximum per person per year.
