In a move to help multi-staff churches build strong relationships among their leaders, the state LeaderCare office will hold a Staff Relations Conference at Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center May 9-10.
“There is a strong need for training in our multi-staff churches in staff relations,” said Dale Huff, director of the Office of LeaderCare and Church Administration for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM).
“The personal and professional relationships staff members are able to forge have a strong influence on the ministry functions of the church,” Huff said.
The leadership ministries team, consisting of the offices of Worship Leadership/Church Music, LeaderCare and Church Administration, and Leadership/Church Growth, will offer breakout sessions covering topics of interest in each ministry area.
Plenary sessions will be led by Mike Northcutt of Eastmont Baptist Church, Montgomery; Gary Hollingsworth of First Baptist Church, Trussville; and Frank Lewis of First Baptist Church, Nashville, Tenn. Lewis is well-known as a former consultant at LifeWay and author of the book “The Team Builder,” which deals with staff relationships.
There will be additional breakout sessions for church secretaries. The conference will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday and conclude at noon on Tuesday.
Reservations can be made with Shocco at www.shocco.org/reser/ or by calling 1-800-280-1105. (SBOM)
