‘Profound impact’

In December 2024, Southeastern installed the Jim Shaddix Chair of Expository Preaching in his honor.
Chris Crain, executive director of Birmingham Metro Baptist Association, wrote in a Facebook post that he is “deeply grateful for the profound impact” of Shaddix, who served as his preaching professor.
“His investment in me was a blessing, and I’m humbled to have had mentors like him who inspired me to serve the Lord with passion and integrity, striving to make them proud for God’s glory,” Crain wrote.
