The 2021 Sharing Hope Conference (the State Evangelism Conference) will be held Feb. 21 at Valleydale Baptist Church, Hoover, with limited in-person seating and a livestream for anyone who wants to join.
Each year, the evangelism-focused conference seeks to equip Alabama Baptists to share the good news of Christ. This year’s event has been adapted due to safety concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but the goal is the same.
Featured speakers include Darryl Strawberry, who played 17 seasons of Major League Baseball, helping his teams win four World Series championships, but who battled illegal substance abuse that eventually ended his baseball career. After encountering salvation and a life-changing transformation through the power of God, Strawberry now seeks to help others find healing and restoration.
Mac Brunson, pastor of Valleydale, will also speak.
Frank Jones will provide pre-session music, and worship will be led by Kirkwood Bullis & Valleydale Worship.
Registration is required for the in-person event, which runs from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be limited seating and social distancing will be observed. A mask will also be required upon entry.
The event will be live streamed at live.alsbom.org.
