Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A: I came to know the Lord from the influence of several key people: my parents, first and foremost; some very dear friends of the family; and a couple of Sunday School teachers. I gave my life over to my Lord and Savior on Aug. 6, 1972, during a James Robinson crusade at my home church, Huffman Baptist.

Q: How have you been involved in church through the years?
A: I have been privileged to serve as a deacon for the past 27 years, as well as a Discipleship Training teacher with children ages 6–12. Serving on the youth committee has always been a joy.

Q: What have you gotten from that involvement?
A: I know that I have received much, much more than I have given. I can’t imagine life without a church family such as mine.

Q: How do you see yourself involved in church in the future?
A: I see myself serving in the future much the same as I serve now. I personally do not think that the Lord intends for us to retire from service. I think He would be pleased for us to serve until we are called home or until He returns.

Q: What does the Christian life mean to you?
A: It means that I should live my life in a manner that others may be able to see Christ through me. … With each and every day and the help of my Savior, I strive to be more like Him.
